Training Software Development Course

ExeQut Training Program

Start date: June 14th for 8 weeks

The purpose of this training program is to equip the next generation of software developers with real-world fundamental skills and problem-solving company experiences. These skills are: Learning the ins and outs of an internet browser with CSS and HTML, Communicating with APIs Rest/Web Sockets, Creating an API server with authentication and data retention, SQL Database and website application builds.

These skills will be measured through intensive weekly projects throughout the course.

Intended Audience

Undergraduates with majors in IT, SC, and mathematics, non-traditional learners, community college graduates from IT, SC and mathematics, and 0-1 year software developers who want to add value to their hiring portfolio.
 

Adult Learning Principles

There will be opportunities for participants to contribute their own professional and personal experiences to our educational content with programming creativity or solutions. We will also encourage participants to identify their needs and direct their own learning during the educational program with project customization and assigned tasks within the team groups.
 

Delivery methods

This program will be harnessing the hybrid learning model: 2 hours of virtual instruction on Wednesday evenings and 3 hours on-site instruction on Saturdays. The virtual course platform will utilize Microsoft teams, GitHub pages, and Scrum based weekly Sprint planning. Virtual will occur on Teams on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm and in-person will occur on Saturdays from 9 to 12 pm.
